![]() ![]() We arrived at the 9am opening, so there was no crowd to get in. It’s interactive museum is a great added bonus alongside the impressive views. We would highly recommend spending a couple of hours exploring the Skydeck in Chicago. They take a photo of you doing it and you can also take photos yourself which is great. If you’re feeling particularly brave, make sure you take on The Ledge, where you can step out over the viewing platform and look right below you, over 1000ft. It’s an amazing experience, and on a clear day you can see for miles and miles. The views are nothing short of epic, and you literally feel on top of the world. Skydeck is one of the tallest observation platforms in the world, so if you’re not a fan of heights, give this a wide berth. Once you’ve finished in the interactive experience, you can board your lift and head to the skies. It was very well put together, with lots of information and some great photo opportunities too. We didn’t really anticipate that there would be so much information and fun to be hand in these exhibits, and we do recommend setting an hour aside to give them the time they need. Once you’ve been through security, you enter into the interactive museum, which was a huge surprise for us, as it really told the story of a Chicago, the past and the present, and what makes Chicago so special. Entry was a very simple affair, simply showing the pass and they book you on to the next available slot. We visited the Willis Tower Skydeck on our first morning in Chicago using our GoCity pass, and we’re very glad we did. This is a very well run experience and credit to the employees to making it run smoothly. If you have city pass, you don’t need to stop at the ticket booth and can proceed to the expedited line entrance. Sky deck entrance is on the Jackson St side of the building and you actually go down two floors from the lobby to reach the entry. The entire experience took less than an hour due to expedited entry. There are timers in each ledge and an attendant that keeps track of the time in each ledge. You get 60 seconds if you have a party of two or two minutes with a larger size party. The ledge is five glass boxes that extend outside the observation area. ![]() Without city pass or buying the expedited ticket (which starts at $55), you will face waits boarding the elevator to the top and an even longer wait for the ledge on peak days and times. The city pass includes the expedited line, which means almost no waiting for the elevator to the top and limited waiting for the ledge. Went here on probably one of the busiest days of the year (sunny Saturday before the 4th of July) and had a great experience due to the expedited line. ![]()
